In a meeting with a group of youth from 73 countries – including Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain and Palestine – who have participated in the "Islamic Awakening and Youth Conference" in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the youth of Islamic countries are very important for the future of the Islamic Ummah and added: "The awakening of the youth throughout the world of Islam has increased hope of a general awakening among Muslim nations."

For many Muslims and Islamic activists around the world, in so many different places and fields of work, the unity of the Ummah is a basic premise of everything we do.

Shia-Sunni violence has been on the rise in the last few years, particularly in Iraq and Pakistan. Every month, it seems, scores of Shias and Sunnis are killed in a vicious tit-for-tat between extremists on both sides. Many of the victims are killed as they pray or are in mosques.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called for greater role for women in society and underscored the need for the enlightenment of the world public opinion about Islam's sublime views on women.

In contemporary global politics, two ingredients are considered essential to project power: wealth and military might. The two are inter-related. Obviously, without wealth, military hardware cannot be acquired and without military might, wealth can neither be protected nor additional amounts accumulated.
